Heavy Duty Mechanic- Apprentice or Journeyperson

Lucky 13 Heavy Duty Repair Ltd. | Sundre, Alberta

Good at fixing things? Looking for a shop where your skills matter and your time off actually feels like time off? Let's talk.

Lucky 13 Heavy Duty Repair is a family-owned shop in Sundre, Alberta, working on the trucks and trailers that keep the oilfield, logging, and gravel industries moving.

We're looking for a Journeyperson Heavy-Duty Mechanic or an apprentice with at least second-year experience who knows their way around heavy equipment, takes pride in doing a job right, and wants to be part of a solid team.

Here's what you can expect

A schedule that gives you your life back.

We work an 8-days-on, 6-days-off rotation. That's a block of time off you can actually plan around—whether you're spending it with family, getting out into the mountains, working on your own projects, or simply taking a breather.

Work that keeps you thinking.

You'll work on heavy trucks and trailers hauling fluids, logs, and gravel. From troubleshooting mechanical problems to major repairs and engine overhauls, there's variety in the work and plenty of opportunity to put your skills to use.

A shop where people matter.

We're a family-owned business that believes in integrity, quality work, and treating people with respect. We want people who take ownership of their work, look out for their teammates, and care about the quality of what leaves the shop.

A place to build your career.

Whether you're a seasoned Journeyperson or an apprentice building experience, we're looking for someone who wants to do good work, keep learning, and grow with the team.

A company that cares.

We offer competitive pay and bonus opportunities. We also offer health benefits so that you are looked after, no matter what life brings.

What you'll be doing

• Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy trucks and trailers.
• Performing inspections, including CVIP inspections where qualified.
• Tackling major mechanical repairs and engine overhauls.
• Completing accurate, detailed work orders.
• Keeping your workspace safe, clean, and organized.
• Working independently when needed and collaborating with the team to get the job done right.

What we're looking for

• A Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Journeyperson or an apprentice with at least second-year experience.
• A Journeyperson applicant must hold a valid Journeyperson certification and CVIP licence.
• Your own adequate set of professional tools.
• A practical, problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
• Someone dependable who takes pride in their work, manages their time well, and works safely.
• A team player who can also take initiative and work independently.
• Someone living in Central Alberta or willing to relocate to the Sundre area.

Why Sundre?

Sundre offers a different pace of life, with the Rocky Mountain foothills close by and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Calgary and Red Deer are both about an hour away, so you're not cut off from the city—but you don't have to live in one, either. Housing is more affordable in Sundre and this smaller community is a great place to call home.

If you've been thinking about a change of scenery, a smaller community, or a better balance between work and life, this could be worth a closer look.

Ready to make a move?

If you're a mechanic who takes pride in doing quality work and wants to be part of a dependable team, we'd like to hear from you.
