Gymnastics Coach - Recreational

Sundre Gymnastics is located in the foothills of Mountain View County, offering recreational programs for athletes at every stage, from Parent and Tots to Teens. The club focuses on building confidence, resilience, and a love of movement in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment. Programs are Cangym based. A team of passionate coaches is dedicated to creating positive experiences for athletes and families while fostering meaningful connections. We are a set up and take down club out of the community center in Sundre.

Part Time - Our club operates on Tuesday and Wednesday’s

Skill Set required:

• Willing to obtain the mandatory NCCP gymnastics coaching certifications, avid learner and strong team player.
• Excellent class management skills
• Understanding how to provide constant constructive feedback, making lesson plan adjustments, and providing positive encouragement to help develop our athletes while motivating them to reach their full potential.
• Ability to use time efficiently, keeping kids engaged and active
• Ability to adapt to our system, follow lesson plans and create lesson plans as required
• Strong role model in and out of the gym, love for gymnastics and love to work with kids!

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• Minimum Foundations Level Training through NCCP-we will provide opportunity to obtain if needed
• MED, Respect In Sport and Safe Sport certifications-we will provide opportunity to obtain if needed - must have before being an active coach on the floor
• Clear Police Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous gymnastics coaching experience preferred
• NCCP Gymnastics Foundations Trained or Certified preferred
• Excellent Communication skills, including clear instruction for athletes of varying ages and positive, professional communication with families and colleagues.
• Current first aid/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to complete).
• Proven ability to create an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for athletes of all abilities, including those in adapted or beginner programs.
• Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage groups safely while maintaining a positive and engaging class environment.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends (fun meets) as needed to support regular programming.
