Herbicide Applicator / Labourer (Seasonal)

Position Overview
Al Saunders Contracting is seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as Herbicide Applicators / Labourers for the 2026 field season. This role supports vegetation management and general right-of-way (ROW) maintenance on pipeline projects across central Alberta.
This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates looking to gain hands-on experience in the environmental and pipeline services industry. Training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate off-highway vehicles (OHVs), including Argo units, ATVs and side-by-sides
• Apply herbicides using backpack and/or mounted spray systems
• Mix and load herbicides in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines
• Perform mechanical vegetation clearing as required
• Complete general labour tasks, including installation of erosion controls and landscape maintenance
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures while working in field environments
Qualifications & Requirements
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working long days outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Willingness to travel for work assignments
The following certifications are considered assets:
• Pesticide Applicator License (Industrial Vegetation, herbicide applicator authorized assistant license, or equivalent)
• Standard First Aid
• WHMIS
• H2S Alive
Additional Assets
• Previous experience working on pipeline or right-of-way (ROW) projects
• Experience operating ATVs, UTVs, or Argo units
• Familiarity with herbicide application and vegetation management practices
• Experience using GPS or digital data collection tools

Work Location & Travel
Work will take place across various project sites in Alberta, primarily between Sundre and Edson. Travel is required; accommodations will be arranged by the company.
