Bilton Welding and Manufacturing Ltd., in Innisfail, AB is looking for an analytical and detail orientated Contract - Part Time - Senior Process Engineer to join our team.

Are you a P.Eng. certified Process Engineer who’s both technically skilled and easy to work with? We’re looking for a down-to-earth professional to join our dynamic and collaborative team on a part-time, contract basis. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely and make a real impact on innovative projects in the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Provide process engineering expertise for the design and review of:
- Heat exchangers, air coolers, and separator packages
- Line heaters and sulfur recovery units (SRUs)
- Other custom oilfield process equipment
2) Review and stamp engineering drawings to ensure code compliance (API, ASME, CSA)
3) Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to size and select:
- PSVs, pumps, control valves, and instrumentation
- Column internals (trays, packing, mesh pads)
- Burners and sealing systems
- Create and review PFDs, P&IDs, and heat/material balance documents
- Attend virtual client meetings as the technical representative
- Mentor Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and provide guidance on technical development
- Identify and implement process optimization opportunities
What We’re Looking For:
- Must hold Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
- Proven experience in oilfield process equipment design
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable speaking on behalf of the company in client settings
- Personable, collaborative, and team-oriented with a focus on shared success.
