About the Role

Blackstone Builders is looking for a reliable and experienced Carpenter / Framer to join our construction team.

We work on a variety of projects throughout Central Alberta, including post-frame buildings, shops, agricultural buildings, commercial projects, renovations, and residential.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, works well as part of a crew, and can maintain a high standard of quality and productivity on the job site.

Responsibilities

  • Wood framing, wall framing, floor systems, and roof framing

  • Post-frame building construction

  • Installing exterior metal cladding and roofing

  • Installing windows, doors, trims, and other building components

  • Reading and working from construction drawings and plans

  • Measuring, cutting, and assembling building materials

  • Operating hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment

  • Working safely and efficiently as part of a crew

  • Maintaining a clean and organized job site

  • Assisting with other general construction duties as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of framing/carpentry experience required

  • Strong knowledge of wood framing and general construction methods

  • Apprentice and Journeyman Carpenters are encouraged to apply

  • Ability to read construction drawings and plans

  • Ability to read a tape measure and confidently use construction tools

  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently when required

  • Able to perform physically demanding work and work outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation

  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship

  • Must be dependable and able to work well with others

Experience with post-frame construction, metal roofing, metal siding, or agricultural/commercial construction is considered an asset.

Schedule

Typical workdays are approximately 10 hours per day, 40-44 hours per week, depending on the project and location.

Some projects may require travel or out-of-town work.
