About the Role

The Town of Olds is seeking an organized, proactive, and community-minded Administrative Assistant to support our leadership team in a six-month temporary part-time role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating structure, supporting meaningful work, and contributing to the day-to-day operations that help a community thrive.

 

At the Town of Olds, public service starts with people. In this role, you will help ensure leaders are prepared, information is well managed, and administrative processes run smoothly. Your work will support the team behind important municipal services and initiatives, helping maintain the strong internal coordination that allows the organization to serve the community effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the leadership team across a range of day-to-day activities.
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and distribute correspondence, reports, meeting materials, and other documents.
  • Coordinate calendars, meetings, and appointments, ensuring schedules and materials are well organized.
  • Support meeting logistics, including preparing agendas, assembling packages, and tracking follow-up items.
  • Maintain accurate electronic filing systems.
  • Respond to inquiries in a professional, courteous, and service-focused manner.
  • Assist with data entry, records management, and general office administration.
  • Contribute to the smooth operation of the office by anticipating needs and supporting administrative priorities as they arise.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous administrative or office support experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong people skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.

Position Details

  • Temporary part-time position for 6 months.
  • 3 days per week, (days are flexible)
  • 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
  • Wage range: $24.43 to $25.66 per hour
