Night Time Supervisor

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Night Time Foreman to work nights and join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry tasks, including fabrication, restoration, and assembly specifically in the Food Store Industry. They will also be required to be out of town for extended periods of time and working night shift, weekends and holidays. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently as well as part of a team. The individual will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. They must also be prepared and willing to work long hours in various environments. The candidate must have experience and be willing to work at heights and on commercial roof tops.

Duties

• Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in commercial construction projects.
• Assists project team in ensuring timely and successful completion of construction projects.
• Construct and dismantle formwork for concrete structures
• Will use form carpentry experience with stairs, piers, step down footers, column diamonds.
• Removes and installs commercial doors, frames, hardware; install metal and wood frames in a variety of substrates, metal and wood doors and all types of door hardware.
• Installs toilet partitions and accessories and layout grid ceiling tile.
• Installs mud, tape drywall assemblies.
• Mix, place and finish concrete by hand
• Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
• Performs materials handling and storage.
• Conduct construction estimating to determine project costs and material needs.
• Apply caulking to seal joints and gaps in structures for improved durability.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure project completion meets quality standards.
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Carpenter ( 7 years minimum) in a similar role within the commercial construction industry.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to carpentry tasks.
• Knowledge of tile laying techniques and masonry practices is preferred.
• Knowledge of drywalling, taping, mud and painting practices
• Ability to manage and oversee sub trades, and other general laborer's
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
• Strong commitment to safety protocols and completing necessary paperwork. Experience using software like Sitedocs is required.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks consistently, this is a labor intensive role requiring long periods of time where you will be standing, moving materials and completing general labor tasks.
• Must have fall protection training and certification
• Willingness to travel to get specific supplies needed for a job when a supplier can not deliver to site.
• Assist with finding a subtrade when required for a job that is out of town or in an emergency situation.
• Standard Class 5 Driver's License
• First Aid, WHMIS
• Rough Terrain/Forklift/Telehandler Certifications
• Construction Drawing Training
• Drivers Abstract Must be provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00-$31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 – 48 per week
