About the Role
This is a 30 hour a week position from May 6 to August 22, 2025, with an hourly rate of $16.00.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Program Coordination & Facilitation
- Supervise and engage with youth during DROP-IN activities and planned events.
- Assist in planning and promoting age-appropriate activities and day camps.
- Research and coordinate with community partners to enhance programming.
- Arrange facility bookings and recruit necessary volunteers for events.
- Ensure all programs are inclusive and promote positive youth development.
- Work within an assigned budget to order supplies and coordinate food for events.
- Maintain accurate program records, including registration and attendance.
- Collect feedback and evaluations from participants and submit reports to the director.
Community Engagement & Research
- Build relationships with local stakeholders, including the library, museum, and other organizations.
- Research successful programs in other communities to improve programming initiatives.
- Assist with Volunteer Week planning and other community engagement opportunities.
Special Requirements
- This position is intended for individuals aged 19 to 30 years as this is throught the Canada Summer Jobs program
- Provide a current Police Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector check.
- Hold a valid First Aid/CPR certification.
- Complete required training (e.g., Plan to Protect).
- Be a self-starter with strong initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to follow through on tasks.
- Enjoy working with youth and engaging with the community.
