About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Community Facilitator to join our team! This role is all about bringing people together, fostering collaboration, and creating a sense of belonging within our community. As a Community Facilitator, you will be responsible for engaging with diverse groups, organizing events, and facilitating discussions that inspire connection and growth. You’ll play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels heard and valued. Every day, you will serve as a crucial connector, linking residents in Olds with essential social supports.
Success in this role requires a background in community development or social services, a flair for social media, and a knack for planning engaging events. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that comes together to ensure both our events, and our community thrive. Located on the Highway 2 corridor, the Town of Olds has a population of just under 10,000 people and is home to Olds College of Agriculture & Technology. Our community is fortunate to have robust leisure, cultural, and recreation amenities and a strong commercial and industrial sector, all of which make us the regional hub for approximately 35,000 people. This position is located at the Community Connection Center (CCC) in Uptowne Olds. The CCC links people in the community with social preventative services, programing, and information with the goals of promoting a high quality of life for citizens and building opportunities for everyone.
Typical Duties Include:
• Collaborating with community members and organizations to promote social development in Olds and
the surrounding areas.
• Leading discussions to identify community needs and working with groups to develop and implement
action plans.
• Coordinating and supporting special events like Olds Fashioned Christmas, Canada Day, and other
local community gatherings.
• Creating and executing marketing strategies for a variety of community programs and initiatives.
• Offering insights on grant distribution, budget allocations, and policy enhancements to support social
development.

The wage range for this position is $34.83 - $39.41 per hour. The annual salary is based on a 37.5-hour work week. This position includes health benefits and participation in the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP).
