Job Description
Job Title:Barista and Social Media Assistant (maternity leave contract, with possibility for permanent position)
Job Type:Part-Time Casual (4 to 12 shifts per month)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, and espresso drinks.
- Assist customers in selecting and purchasing coffee beans, providing product knowledge and recommendations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, including the coffee preparation area, retail area, and customer seating.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including opening and closing cash register.
- Perform inventory management duties, including restocking supplies and tracking product levels.
- Assist in maintaining and updating social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook, by capturing and sharing engaging content, particularly showcasing our coffee offerings and café atmosphere.
- Contribute ideas for promotions, events, and other initiatives to enhance the café's visibility and customer experience.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations and a positive work environment.
- Contribute to the sale of wholesale coffee beans.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a barista is preferred.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Facebook.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, honest, and responsible, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
- Passion for coffee and enthusiasm for working in a small business environment.
- Sales skills.
